Suspended between rock and sea, the project reimagines the historic Minerva Tower at Punta Campanella as the core of an artists’ retreat. Set within a dramatic coastal landscape, the intervention combines two gestures: a sequence of essential new volumes hosting living spaces, and the careful restoration of the ancient tower, transformed into a place for artistic production. The new dwelling develops as a sober composition of ribbed-plaster blocks, culminating in a rooftop stair inspired by Casa Malaparte. The tower, preserved in its ruin-like identity, is reinterpreted through light inserted structures and a spiral staircase that connects flexible workspaces illuminated by zenithal light wells. Rather than imposing itself on the landscape, the project seeks resonance with it, a quiet fragment between ruin and rebirth, conceived as a place for living, thinking, and creating at the edge of the Mediterranean.
